The Ana

There are presently no open calls for submissions.

Hello!

We are the Editors of The Ana. At its best, publication is a relationship between the artist, publisher, and audience.

So, allow us to introduce ourselves.

In 2020, The Ana was founded as a place where people can express their full, nuanced selves. Expectations be damned. Yet, despite this, we have ground rules. Nuance does not mean we tolerate hate speech. (See the Paradox of Tolerance for all our philosophy babes.)

Nuance also means we understand the difference between supporting hate and invoking complex themes to make a more significant point. (We love an anti-hero!)

We will not engage with work that disparages a community based on:

GENDER · SEXUALITY · RACE · ETHNICITY · RELIGION (OR LACK THEREOF) · IMMIGRATION STAUS · ABILITY · DISABILITY · HEALTH STATUS · CREED · ECONOMIC SITUATION

If you do not support this, that's okay. We are sure Reddit or the New York Times would love your work.

So… What is The Ana?
